Cast off at half six. The same west-coast run as our day trip, taken as the light turns amber — drinks and food on deck, the drone up over Cabo Girão, and the coast entirely to your group.
We leave Marina do Funchal at 18:30 and run west along the coast — past Câmara de Lobos, the fishing village Churchill came to paint, and out under Cabo Girão, 580 metres of sheer basalt dropping straight into the Atlantic. The drone goes up there, so you leave with the footage.
Drinks and food come out on deck, the engine drops to a hush and the light does the rest — gold, then copper, then deep red. The way home is the fun part: throttle open, spray flying, Funchal lighting up ahead.
See the two optionsSame boat, same route, same everything on board. The only difference is where we turn around — and how long you stay out.
That option is already selected on the next screen.

Served on deck as the sun drops — included on both options, not an add-on.
We fly the drone over the boat at Cabo Girão and send you the footage after.
A favourite for anniversaries, proposals and celebrations — tell us and we'll help set the moment.
Madeira sunsets are dramatic because of the clouds — the colour comes from light hitting them. Slip out of the marina, watch the city turn amber behind you, and let the engine drop to a hush under the cliff.
This is a cruising trip, not a swimming one: by half six the water has lost the day's warmth, so we keep you on deck with a drink instead. If you want to get in — snorkel, jump, paddle — take the day trip instead, it's built around exactly that.
Meet your skipper on the pontoon, straight out along the city waterfront.
The painted fishing boats and the bay Churchill sat down to paint in 1950.
580 metres of cliff straight out of the sea. We ease off, open the drinks and fly the drone.
Further west under the terraces, to the Ribeira Brava seafront, right as the light peaks.
Gold turns copper, then deep red over the Atlantic. Engine off, no one else aboard.
Throttle open along the dark coast, Funchal lit up ahead, back on the pontoon.
Every sunset trip casts off at 18:30 from Marina do Funchal. The 2h option is back around 20:30, the 2h30 option around 21:00. Arrive about 15 minutes early to settle in.
Only how far west we go. The 2h (€400) turns back at Cabo Girão. The 2h30 (€500) carries on past Fajã dos Padres to Ribeira Brava before turning. Everything on board is identical.
No — swimming, jumping in and paddle are on the day trip only. By 18:30 the water is too cold to enjoy properly, so the sunset trip is a cruising trip: coastline, drone, drinks and food on deck.
Drinks and food aboard, drone footage of your trip, the private boat for up to 5 guests and a local skipper. One flat price for the boat — not per person.
Madeira sunsets are dramatic because of the clouds. Total overcast is rare — if it happens, we reschedule or refund. We watch the forecast obsessively.
