Who we are
Chifbay operates private boat tours from Marina do Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. For any privacy question you can reach us at hello@chifbay.com.
What information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us, including:
- Your name, email address and phone number when you contact us;
- The details of your enquiry or booking (dates, group size, preferences);
- Messages you send us by email, WhatsApp or our contact form.
Bookings and any payments are handled by Stripe, our payment provider. Card and payment details are processed by that provider — Chifbay never sees or stores your full payment information.
How we use your information
- To answer your enquiries and arrange your private trip;
- To manage your booking and keep you informed about it;
- To improve our service and respond to feedback.
We will never sell your personal data, and we only use it for the purposes above.
Legal basis (GDPR)
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process your data on the basis of your consent and to take steps to enter into or perform a contract (your booking) at your request.
Cookies & analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel to measure our advertising, plus a cookie that remembers your language and your cookie choice. Nothing loads until you accept: on your first visit these tools are switched off and no advertising or analytics cookie is written. Because booking happens on this same site, your choice and your visit carry across it, so you are only asked once. Google and Meta act as our processors and may transfer data outside the EU under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Third parties we rely on
- Booking & payments — Stripe, our payment provider;
- Messaging — WhatsApp (Meta) when you contact us there;
- Hosting — this website is hosted on a static hosting service.
These providers only receive the data needed to deliver their service.
How long we keep your data
We keep your information only for as long as needed to handle your enquiry or booking and to meet our legal obligations, after which it is deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@chifbay.com.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new revision date.
