When is Machico Gastronomic Week 2026?
The 39th Semana Gastronómica de Machico runs from Thursday 31 July to Sunday 9 August 2026 — ten days on the seafront in Machico, on Madeira's east coast. Is it worth pairing with a day on the water?
Yes, if you're staying near Funchal. Machico sits on the opposite side of the island from the marina where Chifbay's boats depart, so the two don't overlap — which makes for a good full day: a private boat trip from Funchal Marina in the afternoon, covering Cabo Girão, hidden coves or a chance of dolphins, then the 25-minute drive east for dinner and music on Machico's seafront once the sun's down. Sea by day, feast by night.
